Frances Slabber: Pursuing her dreams and building a successful business in Australia

Frances Slabber’s journey with Specsavers Audiology in Australia has been a defining chapter in her life. With a wealth of experience as an audiologist in South Africa, Frances was driven to pursue her dreams, which ultimately led her to success in Australia.

The decision to join Specsavers Audiology was an easy one, as she found that the Specsavers’ values aligned perfectly with her own and her husband’s personal values and work ethics. Her husband Carl first joined Specsavers as an optics partner, followed by Frances, making it an ideal company for them both to establish their own businesses.

“Specsavers partnership allows you, as an audiologist, to manage and run your own business within a well-oiled machine where clinician and customer support receives top priority. Specsavers has an incredible support network and the quality of knowledge within the company is truly commendable,” she says.

Relocating her family to Australia was a positive step towards providing better opportunities for their children and continuing their careers in a new country. While the process of ratifying and recognising their degrees with the Australian professional bodies presented some challenges and was time-consuming, Frances firmly believes that the long-term benefits for her family made it all worthwhile.

Joining Specsavers Audiology has proven to be a rewarding experience for Frances. She is now the audiology partner at two locations – Rockingham and Kwinana in Western Australia. “If you want to own your own audiology business and you are an audiologist who wants quality service and products above quantity for your customers – Specsavers is the company you should consider,” she says.
